VetBiB 2006 takes place in the eastern part of Switzerland, near to Zürich and St. Gallen in the nice hilly region of Appenzell. The name of the village is called "Gonten".

Hut: By name "Nördli"

We will have our "own" hut/house. It is an old renovated little Appenzell farm house. It consists of a kitchen, a big and a small living room, six sleeping rooms (4 to 12 beds each) and sanitation facilities. In addition, there is a table tennis opportunity (but unheated).

The hut has in total 35 official sleeping places. But unfortunately, the sleeping rooms are not heatable and there are only military blankets. Hence, bring your own warm sleeping bag.

Going there:

Gonten is about 1.5 hour from Zurich, and about 45 minutes from St. Gallen. There is a railway station of the Appenzell Railway in Gonten. A train is running every hour from both sides (Zurich, St. Gallen, Altstätten respectively).

The hut is a 15 minutes walk from the railway station. See the map for going there. If you like, we will organise a pick up service with shuttle by foot.
